New Game Recipe Video – Stamina HUD!

Not too long ago we released the video-version of one of our written game recipes, short guides on how to implement various interesting game mechanics. In that new part, we’re talking about how you can create a stamina display in the player’s HUD and bind it to a sprint mechanic (described in our 5th game recipe), using the Graph tool to show the statistic in a bar-format, and the HUD interface to have it show up on the player’s screen.

Highlights From Previous Updates

For those of you that may be slightly out of the loop, there’ve been a couple nifty updates that took place a while ago.

We’re thrilled to announce that our 3D Step-Dungeon Maze Kit DLC is stepping out of early access and into full release. Thanks to your invaluable feedback, we’ve ironed out many issues and added many exciting features for you to explore and utilize!

A new version of 001 Game Creator was also released during that time. The update included a bunch of bug & crash fixes, Steam Deck compatibility improvements for built games, and a whole lot of HTML5 issues resolved. And since many HTML5 issues were resolved, we also made sure to update and greatly improve all of our HTML5 Games hosted on our website, especially the Tower Defense Demo which now runs beautifully. Open Dev Kit Updates

Opening phrase in bold should be excluded from ODK Newsletter, and then the following adjusted accordingly (capitalization etc.)
Regarding Open Dev Kit, the most recent update is packed with massive fixes and performance enhancements, doubling the FPS in projects and setting the stage for even more improvements! Rendering consistency has been significantly improved, and we’ve added support for animated glTF2 3D models (.GLTF/.GLB files), in addition to the existing .FBX and .OBJ formats.
Our RPG template has also received major updates, introducing new cursor functionality for better object selection and obstruction handling. Expanded message boxes and interface navigation now allow message boxes to render entire actors, providing unlimited options for face graphics.

Additionally, this version includes the extensive documentation update we’ve teased in the past. Now, you can learn about any feature or scripting property/function by simply selecting it and pressing “F1”. We’ve nearly completed documenting every feature of Open Dev Kit, so be sure to explore this comprehensive resource!

Reminder that Open Dev Kit has recently also received a few new features such as extended OpenAI integration, Virtual Reality implementation, an exciting new devlog series over on our Patreon, and our more fresh Turtle 3D Demo, which is a project introducing robotics through simple Lua scripts!
