Non-Solid Floors/Walls

I’m creating enemies in a pseudo-3D game that are meant to phase through the floor/walls; like ghosts and sandworms.

While I can technically use the lower object tiles to achieve what I’ve set out to do, the engine unfortunately doesn’t provide some of the same visual effects that floors and walls have; for instance the color variability, which has a more visually appealing dynamic for floors/walls that I’d like to use for my game’s desert region, where sandworms appear.
